Table Scraps (Freebird)
Drawing on the modernist architectural sensibility of Remai Modern and consulting with urban chicken activists, the ultimate chicken coop was created. The functional, stacked boxes of the museum's new building are ideally suited to the conditions of happy urban hens, making an inclusive space for interspecies cooperation, dialogue and creative expression. Table Scraps refers in part to the Victory Garden movements of the First and Second World Wars, when governments urged people to grow their own food as a patriotic duty. Curated by Sandra Fraser.
